Pro Volleyball Player Eric Zaun Dead At 25

VOLLEYBALL: JUN 08 AVP Gold Series NYC Open

Police say that 25-year-old professional volleyball player Eric Zaun jumped to his death from a 29th-floor window at the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Zaun played volleyball for Limestone College in South Carolina and moved to California after graduating so he could pursue his dream to play volleyball professionally. In 2017 he started playing for the Association of Volleyball Professionals and won rookie of the year.

"The AVP is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Eric Zaun. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. He will be deeply missed," the AVP wrote on Instagram.

USA Volleyball CEO Jamie Davis said that Zaun's passing "is a huge loss for the entire volleyball community."

"Eric was a talented young beach player and stepped up this spring to play snow volleyball for the U.S. He will be missed."
