Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce responded after rapper Lil Wayne accused his team of cheating during their AFC Divisional Round win against the Houston Texans last Saturday (January 18).
Wayne, who performed at the three-time Super Bowl champion's 'Kelce Jam' concert last summer, wrote, "I hate the cheating azz Chiefs," on his X account after the game. Kelce and his brother, retired former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, discussed the situation on their New Heights podcast released on Wednesday (January 22).
“Even Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne [wrote on social media], ‘I hate the cheating a– Chiefs. So an a– with two z’s,” Jason said, acknowledging the obviously misspelled word.
"Shout-out to Tunechi, man," Travis responded before Jason continued to read Wayne's posts on X.
“Literally folks will see s**t like this and say ‘yup just like i thought. Refs vs. Texans’ lol. Bro the Texans left the all time leading playoffs receiver wide booty butt nekkid open for 4 quarters and yet the Chiefs needed those calls,” the X post stated.
Wayne, who is from New Orleans but is a fan of the Green Bay Packers, added, "It's not even impressive when u cheat and then clearly try to cheat. Just win baby."
The Chiefs were the beneficiary of a late calls in which the Texans were called for roughing the passer and unnecessary roughness for hits on quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was also criticized for a sideline fall that didn't result in a penalty. Kansas City still won by multiple possessions to clinch their seventh consecutive AFC Championship Game appearance.
